These months are probably the strongest period of collective fear, anxiety, grief and loss that most of us shall live through. And when this happens as a collective, we are all touched by it in some way or the other. If you have been feeling more fearful than usual, or sadder than usual, and with no good reason - it’s possible that you are just tapping into the current universal energy - which is lower than what you may be used to.
Now, as Viktor Frankl says (Man’s search for Meaning) “Everything can be taken from a man but one thing, the last of the human freedoms — to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one's own way."
And no better place to know oneself than the current circumstances. Yes, we are losing people, people are losing jobs, some are losing peace of mind and others are losing love. But let’s not lose perspective. The age old mantra that This too shall pass. And when it does, it may leave behind a trail of blood shed and tears or learnings about ourselves and what truly matters. The choice is an individual one and we need to make it now.
So if you are ready to face your fears and let go of them one by one, choose some way of doing it. We live in an era where self help is at its best. Go explore mindvalley.com, look up Louise Hay on youtube, start journalling, learn how to mediate with one of the ample options available on youtube, fit in physical exercise, have a routine, sleep well, eat well. And that’s it. Stay well - stay alive. And reach out…to yourself and to others.
